Good news: Deleting the Sweatcoin app does not delete your sweatcoins

Okay. Breathe. You just uninstalled Sweatcoin (maybe by accident, maybe while doing one of those "delete apps you don't use" phone cleanups, maybe because your storage was screaming at you) and now you're staring at your home screen thinking: wait... did I just lose ALL my sweatcoins?
Your steps. Your streak. Your balance. All of it, gone in one swipe-and-tap?
Deep breath. You didn't lose anything. Here's the short answer, then we'll walk through it properly.
No. Deleting the Sweatcoin app does not delete your sweatcoins. Your balance, your steps, and your account are not stored on your phone, they're stored on your Sweatcoin account in the cloud. Deleting the app only removes the app icon from your phone. It does not touch your account or your balance in any way.
To get everything back: Download the Sweatcoin app again from the App Store or Google Play, then log in the exact same way you signed up originally (same Apple ID, Google account, or phone number). Your sweatcoins, your steps, and your history will all be right there waiting for you.
That's it. That's the whole fix.
It helps to understand what actually happened when you hit "delete." Think of the Sweatcoin app like a window into your account, not a box that holds your coins. Your account, and everything in it, lives on Sweatcoin's servers, tied to your login, not to your phone or the app itself.
So when you delete the app, you're just closing the window. The room behind it, your balance, your step history, your progress, stays exactly as it was. Nothing is wiped, nothing resets, and nothing is lost. This is the same reason you don't lose your Instagram followers or your banking app balance if you delete and reinstall those apps: your data lives with your account, not with the app icon.
That's the entire process. Most people are back to their full balance within two minutes of reinstalling.
This is the number one reason people panic and think their coins are gone: they can't remember whether they signed up with Apple, Google, or a phone number.
Here's how to jog your memory: think about what your phone would have prompted you with when you first opened the app. If you have an iPhone and never saw a login screen, you likely used "Sign in with Apple." If you tapped a Google account button, use that same Google account. If you entered a phone number and got a text code, use that same number.
Try the most likely option first. If it doesn't recognize you, try the next one. Your account is tied to whichever method you used originally, so as long as you still have access to it, you can always get back in.
Will my step streak reset if I delete and reinstall? Your streak, badges, and history are tied to your account, not the app — so uninstalling never deletes them, and your badges and full history come back exactly when you log back in. Your streak can carry on too: when you reinstall, the app syncs your recent steps from your phone's health data, so a short gap where you still hit your daily goal usually keeps it alive. Just remember a streak depends on hitting your goal every day — so if you're away for several days or miss your goal on any of them, the streak itself may reset (your badges and history stay safe either way).
I got a new phone. Will I still have my sweatcoins? Yes. As long as you log in with the same account (same Apple ID, Google account, phone number), your balance and history transfer with you to any new device.
What if I deleted the app before withdrawing or redeeming my sweatcoins? No problem. Unredeemed sweatcoins stay in your account balance indefinitely. Reinstall, log in, and redeem them whenever you're ready.
Can uninstalling the app cause me to lose sweatcoins permanently? No. Uninstalling only removes the app from your device. It cannot delete your account or erase your balance. The only way to lose your sweatcoins is to redeem or spend them (which we highly recommend, especially on SuperDraw entries, since the prizes are always sooooo good!)
What if I signed up with a phone number I no longer have? This is the one edge case where you'll need extra help, since verification codes go to that number. If this happens to you, contact Sweatcoin support directly through the app's Help Center so they can verify your identity and help recover account access.
Deleting the Sweatcoin app feels like deleting your progress, but it isn't. Your sweatcoins live safely in your account, not on your phone. Reinstall the app, log back in with the same method you used to sign up, and everything, your balance, your steps, your streak, will be exactly where you left it.
So go ahead, breathe out, download the app again, and get back to walking. Your sweatcoins were never going anywhere.
Wondering what to spend your Sweatcoins on? Every step you take earns you sweatcoins and you can spend them on:
Simply keep walking, earn Sweatcoins, and redeem them for rewards directly in the app.
